I've launched a short investigation on this person on my own. I need help in looking into this guy. I've replied to a job ad (looking for part-time) on craiglist. This person responded immediately this past weekend. Days later, he sent me more than 2000 dollars in a check this week. Can you please tell me who's this person about? Thanks! I appreciate it. BTW some of his email is posted below.

About me:My name is Peter Mark,I have a family of 3 and i am a Realtor and also deal with Art craft.I travel alot, hence the reason why i need an assistant to handle my affairs for me on the home front when i am away on business which is usually quite often.I would love to meet up with you to talk about this job but I am currently away on a business trip. I am in France so there will be no interview This position is home-based and flexible you can be in any location, working with me is basically about instructions and following them,I need someone who can be able to meet up with my regular timings. There is also a very sensitive issue on trust and accountability which I believe will resolve itself as time goes on.

I do have a number of things you could help me with this week if you will be available for me. This can act as a stable foundation to our working relationship. Welcome to Eater. For your personal safety I have deleted many references to your personal email and other identifying information. We encourage safe baiting, and that includes masking anything that could lead directly back to you.

This is a classic 'work at home' scam. There's no way to track this guy down. He's using Gmail so we can't pinpoint his location but it's safe to say he's a long way from NY. And he's using a fake name. He's looking for people to cash fake checks and send the money to him by Western Union, after you take your "percentage" as salary. But then the check bounces and you're on the hook for the whole thing. He may also be wanting you to receive bundles of fake checks to send out individually to victims in the US. It's a vicious and insidious scam.

I'm sure some baiters here will be happy to mess with him and waste a lot of his time.
