I worked with a beneficiary letter and got a fake certificate right off the bat, then the lad switched character on me. I got a call to bar certificate and a staff ID. Didn't know they wear powdered wigs still.

I should back off a bit and figure out how to stall him some more.

Why is he in disguise? Why is he using that offensive term of Barrister? (Just guessing that is what you have here) Can he help you with that pesky court case you have here? There are many ways to stall. It has to fit your persona and idea of where you are going.

Sounds like everything is going to plan, he is just reeling off his script. It is common to get trinkets such as certificates early on, they are used to 'impress' victims and make it look all official.

As it is your first bait just go through the motions with him so you get a feel for how these things pan out.

Be sure to ask lots of questions (one at a time, of course).

When he inevitably gets to the WU stage, have him explain how to send money to him via WU -- twice. Then, you will be sure to screw up the transaction, won't you?

Ditto of all above. Go slowly, no need to rush. What is more, the slower you bait on the beginning (1 mail every other day, or so, no e-mailing on weekends...), the more control on the bait you'll have afterwards. When you've sent three bad MTCNs, made two piggies and one dollachop, the lad will try to push you as much as possible... but you'll just keep answering, at most, one mail a day. Oh, and slower baits last longer, did you know that? It took me nearly a year to fully realise.

Once you've had a few failed WU transactions (all the lad's fault of course), demand to make the payment via bank transfer. If you're lucky, you'll get a bank account to report to Alan and a piggy bank icon for your signature.
