This is a pretty typical straight bait. I started by requesting a copy of my lad's law license, which he produced. It looks amazingly similar to another law license from a different lad I am also baiting. They must all use the same power point template.

I decided to ask the lad for a copy of "inheritance law code 01, et al;pg 78", which he referenced in his first email. After all, I am not familiar with Togolese law and would not want my ignorance to hinder our transaction. To my surprise, he sent it! And, it's not as lame as I was expecting. I'm actually sort of impressed. (I really hope he had to type it all out and didn't have it already handy.)

I also slapped him for calling me "Sister", and insisted he address me properly as "Ms. Colbert". I mean, this is a professional transaction, after all!

Quote:
Dear Ms Colbert.

I was surprise why you choose to be addressed in a formal manner rather than informal manner. This transaction is for our mutual benefit and such being informal will help unite our mind and boost our optimism.

Come to think of it, I have been living with the ideology that all human beings because they proceeds from one source, so I will not like you to misrepresent my calling you sister.

I have given you my License and international Passport, it is upon you to provide the required information as the case may be to enable us to kick start the transaction. I am promising you that you will never regret accepting to assist me conclude this transaction. Do note that I am not in anyway compelling you to go against your will therefore if you feel like you cannot assist you can indicate on time to enable me continue my search, I believe that there is someone whose faith will knit with mine.

I am planning that we use part of the money to establish a foundation for people with cancer since my mother in law is suffering same now. This is the main reason why I wanted us to repatriate the fund from the bank. I am not self centered, I was taught to be altruistic in life.

I'm waiting for the information as soon as possible.

Regards,

Emma Ogbonna Esq, LLB (MB)

I can just about bear them calling me brother but it really makes me throw up when they start calling me daddy. If they don''t stop calling me it I drop them, I can't stomach it!

^ It's a cultural thing in some parts of Africa; by calling someone "daddy" you put yourself at their mercy and pretty much oblige them to look after you. It's as if you abandon all other avenues and throw yourself upon their goodwill, for better or worse*. It's my understanding that such requests for aid would usually be honoured, so if he tries this, your lad is abusing what is essentially a last ditch lifeline - rather like stealing fire extinguishers for scrap value.

*(reference - Richard dowden; "Africa - Altered states, ordinary miracles" Portobello, 2009 - an excellent read in any case)
