I am new to scambatting and have been going back and forth with a scammer for a week. This morning I revived an email in which they said they've reported me to the FBI. Do I have anything to worry about or was this said just to scare me.

Don't sweat the small stuff! Typical ploy, but are you sure it's a scammer? If you are dead set he is, it is just another way to play the game. He has brought you someone to take all your frustration out on and you can do the same at the other end. CUSS, DISCUSS, COMPLAIN. do whatever you like to them. He cannot say anything about one addy while playing the other.

Pretend to be worried, post his gripes here and we can have a giggle. He won't report you to the FBI. What's he going to say?

Don't be surprised if your next email is from Robert Mueller III, director of the FBI. Poor Bob, whose grammar and spelling is often deplorable, must spend all his days sending emails to anonymous people, and he can't even afford his own domain and uses free webmail addys. Sad

I would be more worried about this than a visit from the FBI. Although a visit from a scammer/his mates is unlikely so long as your baiting safe you'll be fine.

Lads claim all sorts of stuff I have had voodoo curses put on me, been reported to all sorts of agencies (etc).

They have no links to law enforcement, well, not unless the Internet Cafe they are in gets raided. Remember, they are criminals sitting in a cybercafe committing 419 they want to stay as far away from the law as possible.

As you get into baiting you will find yourself being turned into the FBI, the CIA, Interpol, Scotland Yard, the RCMP, and possibly Inspector Clousseau.

add to that; God, Satan, Jesus, the EFCC, Shango, Ayelalah, Ogun, Ogwugwu and a very carnival of minor spirits, orishas, mermaids, tokoloshe, countless smelly shrines and a smattering of random ritualists. Expect your family to be threatened with lions, gorillas and fire, poverty, hiv and the Chairman's dogs.
