Going back to pickled eggs, really easy to make and lovely sliced up in a bacon sandwich. mmmm.

Also, manly food for knights of old and those that long for times past. And hungry vivisectionists.

It was stalked & obtained without the use of weapons. Ok, I bought it from the butcher. I find it makes a pleasant alternative to chicken.

On the subject of alternative meats, did you know that in the 17th century the church advocated eating beaver?

I never considered chicken sissy meat but have always preferred Beef, Moose, Venison, Lamb, Swine, Pheasant, Grouse etc.

Pickled eggs on the other hand are God's gift to Humanity! Once upon a time in the "Dead Animals Club" I was challenged to eat one of those horrible looking things and as a true Drunken University student I accepted! My winnings were put towards the purchase of many more. Over the years I have made many batches with a wide variety of recipes. Strubb's does make a decent one but it just isn't the same as homemade!

Where was I? Oh Yeah Chicken...I think... so last night I was in my new Baiting Headquarters ( long story) and was called for dinner. Unable to break myself away from some fine Chat-Sex with my latest Lad I declined. Several hours later I went into the house and warmed up my 'Chicken'. Not such a loss after all I suppose!

Imagine the tale if it had been Beef Tenderloin? I am shuddering just at the thought of it....

I just had some patê with Guinea Hen breast int he middle. And it wasn't sissy at all - because being in the middle of a patê means that it was all wrapped in minced pork! And pork can save any dish.

I think I will try inventing pork donuts...

Basically a burger with a hole in it then. Or maybe a donut with pork in it. Topographically how would you do it? Make the meat coaxial with the rotational axis of the torus, or enclosed within it ? Or maybe a bacon bagel is close enough with cheese and sauce. Mmmm

^There is a pseudo steak/pork combo sausage whatchamacallit that eludes me right now. Essentially it is a steak hollowed out in the centre ( or is it center?) and pork sausage added into the donut hole. A fine pairing I must say! For the life of me I can't remember what it is called.

Regarding the most Manliest/Least Sissiest of all Meats we must consider the Moose tenderloin. This time last week I served up some fine medallions ( bacon wrapped of course) to a crew of hungry Fellahs dressed in their finery or as we call it Blaze Orange.

One of these days I'll have to get my "Master Broiler" certificate from Ponderosa framed!

Speaking of bacon, I took the side pork from my latest 'Pet' and smoked it using a combo of Molasses and Jalapeno. If you ever have the chance; DON'T!!!! Kinda like a candied Kerosene crunchie in my books. Oh well Mom is going to get a stocking full of the stuff this year! For that I am also sorry!

Really, really Sourry!!!!

Ps - I don't know how to vote on this stuff. Is it a regional thing? Honestly I can do some Charity work like air dropping unnecessary vowels into Countries that need our help. We Canadians are pretty good at that kind of stuff. Sorry for taking so much of your time.

Chicken is a god amongst meat.
Nothing else packs the protein punch that a portion of white chicken meat contains.

Interestingly, calorie-counter.net gives protein content figures of 30.77% for roasted squirrel, but only 14.59% for roasted chicken breast. Are we missing a valuable source of nutrition here?

If anyone is Oot and Aboot in the near future head off to the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma and dig into a Meers burger. If it isn't one of the finest things you have ever ingested then perhaps you are need to embrace your inner chicken....

Honestly it is to die for although the place is a bit dumpy looking from the road. It doesn't get much better once you are inside either.

Does anyone out there have a good side pork recipe? I usually get quite a bit of the stuff every year but have never found a proper way of cooking it. Yeah I do get many suggestions although most have proven somewhat unpalatable.
