The tweet fertilizer from that ignorant twit about the ravens player and his brother was a real pisser! I only caught a bit about that before getting away but it looks like she is noted for something other than what the skank intended!

^Yay, if it's true. I never thought I'd feel bad for the Packers and their fans, but the way that game ended was messed up.

I had some sympathy for the locked out referees until I found out their current salaries.

~100K for a first year Ref.

~250K for a veteran.

Not a bad gig, if you can get it.

^^Wow, I had no idea they made that much. From listening to the guys on ESPN, you'd think they were making minimum wage.

Let's do some math here: 16 regular season games + 4 preseason games = 20 games minimum.

100K/20 games = 5K per game

A game typically lasts 3 hours, which works out to more than $1600 per hour.

And this is for a rookie official.

For a veteran working 20 games, this would amount to more than $4,000 per hour.

Not a bad gig indeed.

I'm not really shocked at all by those numbers. With a 9 billion gross revenue the NFL can aford it. Plus don't you want the best officials avalible? Think about all the back up QB's making a million (or $21,000/hour) to just hold the ball for the FG and go out and loose you a few games a year.

Besides working games, NFL officials spend about ten hours on game day and the day before in meetings, going over tape from the previous week's games and reviewing new rules. They also have training sessions and workshops during the off-season.

And as we saw in the first three weeks of the season, it's not a gig that any mope can walk in off the street and qualify for.
