I had a phone call today.

I've had my Sky subscription (Phone, internet, TV.) for 10 months, and this guy called me up offering warranty extension and insurance for the next year. He wanted £10 a month! I told him where he could go.

I was going to string him along and phone bait him until I found out the company was affiliated by sky! Daylight robbery GRR

Actually this isn't the same - the other thread is where they want to rape your bank account using trickery and a PIN number.

These companies are legit - they offer a guarantee to replace your Sky satellite TV box if it goes wrong. What they don't tell you is that if your box fails and you ring up Sky to cancel your subscription, they'll give you a replacement box FOC anyway to keep your business - therefore you are paying for an unnecessary guarantee.

I'll leave this locked though as it isn't a scam as such, just a tax on the stupid.
