Getting lads interested

Hi everyone,

I've been baiting for about a month now, and believe it or not, I'm actually having trouble getting lads interested in me as a victim. I've only been straight-baiting for now, pretending to be wealthy and somewhat stupid, which I assumed would be the type of victim/baiter they love most! But instead of getting pages of "dear brother trust in our Lord is key for the success of this transaction ok, rest assure it is 100% risky free ok" they seem to get quickly annoyed when I ask questions, and act as if I'm wasting their time (wait...).

The most I've acheived so far is sending one 3 times to Western Union with a bogus mtcn. After I asked for another way of sending money, he just dropped me.

My question is, do you only bait the ones that seem the most promising from the start, or what are some techniques to get their attention quickly?
Also, how likely are you to get a reply when sending to a lad the tried and true "Hi, I'm interested, tell me more" to start a bait?

Welcome to Eater! Have you signed up for a mentor yet?

It's hit and miss. Lads tend to be very lazy. Many will not budge from their script no matter what you tell them. If they complain about you not being serious or wasting time, act indignant and demand an apology. You are a serious businessman after all! Threatening to walk away can also work wonders. Make sure the lad knows that all the problems are HIS fault.

Hey, I agree with the above, lads are lazy. I've been baiting since the end of May and I've had a few lads become hooked but not many. It takes time and patience but a lad will become hooked at some point so don't worry! Smile

If a lad loses interest in me, one thing I've found that always gets them hyped up and responsive is to turn them into love lads. A simple, "You seem like such a nice man. Are you married?" usually works like magic.

Of course if you're male, this would turn your stomach. Well, I'm female and it still gets pretty sickening, but it does work and it's fun making them search the net for nauseating love prose and poetry with which to woo me.

There is no magic formula, and a lot depends on the lad in question. Some are more gullible than others, and some are lazier than others. I've had some that never write back as soon as I go off script, and other that I've taken wildly off-script and strung along for up to a year before they finally gave up.

I absolutely agree with the advice above that when they get all indignant about your requests, you have to get indignant right back, accuse them of not being serious about this (whatever "this" happens to be), and sometimes spell it out for them:

Hi and welcome Mr Fawn. Yes the "I'm interested, tell me more" is usually enough to get them to respond.

If you are baiting from a safe catcher and baiting email account...try responding to them like a victim would.

No need to sound like the perfect victim. They have seen that ruse many times.

Just think about how real victim would write to them. Put yourself in that role and give 'em hell.

I will echo the sentiments already given to you...sign up for a mentor and he/she can give you personalized advice.

Welcome. First of all I would advise, as rattlesnake mentioned, sign up for a mentor. You will find the Mentor Sign Up Panel in the Help, Hints & Tips section. A mentor can give you tips and ideas for starting off your baits.

Most straight baits start off slow -- the one question/one comment in one email per day will help -- and will help develop patience. Basically you are trying to get them off their script so if you write a long reply email they are not going to read all that. So go slow and don't try for any of the "fancy" stuff right off the bat.

I'm currently playing someone whose banker has convinced her that the lad's bank is fake. The lad sent a letter from the FBI stating that he had investigated the bank and found it to be real. She said "show me the evidence". Lad told her to ask the bank for evidence. Rolling Eyes

She insists that the FBI provide the evidence; after all, the FBI investigated the bank, right? The lad seems to be well hooked; this bait has been going on since January.

Welcome to the board! I see all of the great advice has been given to you above so I'll only add that your lad never left his chair to check these trnsfers. They can check these online.

Typical lad silliness. I don't know why they think the FBI investigates everything. It's stupid and just plain insulting.
