Hello, New here and recieved an employment scam--Please Help

I've read many of the scambaiting stories and have found much enjoyment doing so. My mother recentlay was laid off work and recieved an employment offer via e-mail from a world renowned and respected travel agency. The e-mail includes two attachments, an employment application and an employee agreement that explains the duties of the employee. I recognized this as a scam right away. The employee egreement explains that due to tensions in certain regions such as Tunisia the company (Scott Dunn Co. Ltd of the UK) needs people to accept foriegn checks, deposit them in thier bank account anf then withdraw the funds as cash and send it to the Scott Dunn Co via Western Union within 24 hours of reciept of the check. In exchange for this service, Scott Dunn Co will pay the employee $3000 USD per month plus 5% commission on the total of all checks processed. I can see where this goes. You deposit the check, withdraw cash and send via Western Union within 24 hours, but because it takes many days for a foriegn check to clear you don't know the check is fake or forged and is no good.

The Scott Dunn Company Ltd. appears legit from internet searhes and I have been able to find ZERO on any scams found out using this company's name. Maybe someone here would like to scambait these idiots. Or maybe help me to do it. I'm not real good with computers but who knows. Any help or suggestions would be apprecaiated. I really don't want some unemployed schmuck sending off his/her savings becausse of these idiots. Their playing off of the desperation of peoples sad fortune of being un-employed.

If you're going to bait them, don't use your own email address. Make up a character, with his/her own address, for baiting.

I suggest you post what you got on Scamwarners. Job scammers use whatever company name they can find (one recently used Baume et Mercier, but the description was obviously a scam job, not anything B&M would need), and potential victims google the company name. The scammers may have set up a fake website apparently belonging to the company, and we'll want to shut it down.

Welcome here csosus. I second what vonpaso xlura wrote, post the scam emails on Scamwarners. I hope your mother understands that it is a scam and cut off contact with the scammer? You could also point her in the direction of Scamwarners, specifically to the employment scams sticky here:
