My first post

Hi just joining the game for some fun hello all I'll probably not be about much but i'll be looking in from time to time and might ask some of you experts some stupid questions.

Here's my first one... If I find the IP address of a lad and can access his machine how ethical is it to tamper...

Hi malman, and welcome to Eater.

Your question: No. We don't do that, due to a whole number of good reasons, of which the most important is that it's illegal. And even if it wasn't, you couldn't be sure that the lad is using his own computer - most lads operates from cyber cafe's.

Even if it weren't illegal it would be impractical. Most lad cafes use satellite providers and the IP addresses are basically spoofed. They usually resolve to the provider's HQ or uplink station rather than the lad's computer itself, a complicating factor when verifying the sending of lads on long and useless journeys.

But yes, to reiterate, grab a mentor, read the stickies, they are an excellent primer on the whys and wherefores of baiting. Be safe and have fun Wink
