Since Bravo made a thread all about beer, I decided to cater to those like other alcoholic drinks besides beer. So let's discuss favourite drinks that are NOT beer.

Yeah, OK. I prefer a nice Chardonnay, but this works in a pinch.

It will not make monsters come out from under your fingernails ( I carried out extensive research), but may not be legal where you are. It leaves you what I can best describe as 'lucid drunk'.

I never used to be much of a whisky drinker, but since moving to Scotland
a few years ago i have embraced the local tipple.

Two of my current favourites are

Jura 10 year old

Ardbeg 10 year old

As an alternative to whisky there's usually of bottle of this in the house

@Roycropper I'm assuming your talking about Absinth the pic is not showing up. I had my first "real" Absinth just a couple weeks ago. Apparently you can order a bottle for personnel consumption via the web.

I had another go at an image. Hope this one works. Apparently the Absinthe you can now buy in the US has to be thujone free (the 'active' ingredient), but not in Canada. apparently it was never officially banned in the UK, leading to a comeback in recent years.

Most booze has only alcohol as the active ingredient, Absinthe is a weird one - booze with added drugs, though many say the effect is exaggerated.

I one got drunk in 5 minutes flat on home made Polish Spirit, basically vodka with some of the unnecessary girly water distilled away on a kitchen stove. Shocked

It was a bit like drinking battery acid, though, don't blame me if you go blind.

Yes that's correct US is thujone free. Its illegal to sell it here with all it's ingredients but you can buy the real stuff online and as long as you only buy a bottle US customs lets it come through.

I never tried this stuff. Is it good? is the real stuff for sale, i mean not some fake knockoff. It was banned in Netherlands and i believe the ban was lifted a couple of years ago. If i want to buy this what brand should i buy?

Absolute nectar. The hit of iodine when you take a swallie is "to die for" Pity it costs £45 a bottle ( or $67 if you use the metric system)

Remember to avoid "Juice box" saké. It tastes like paint thinner and depending on which on you get, it have a very high alcohol content.
