Hi all

I'm very new to the site - one day old! - and have been doing a bit of digging around seeing what you guys get up to and laughing myself stupid at your Hall of Shame. I'm not really sure where to start with it all so have, naturally, been googling around and found this....

Doesn't look strictly like a 419 scam but the sense of humour of whoever is behind this is strangely familiar to this site!

Do you bother cold-callers or is it strictly internet scammers? Sorry if I've missed this on an introductory sticky, I've tried to do all the reading but have almost definitely missed something!

To answer your original question, my guess is that the site in question is simply satire, and probably not the work of a baiter.

It is a rather well done site however.

this site would be extremely funny to use it in a bait. but as there is a real company, this makes those people ITPs.

but I don't see a problem to contact the holder of the first page, if he wants to help us bait lads. this site is well designed. different logo, maybe another front picture and baiter-names.

Thanks for all your replies, chaps. I'm really not sure that RF is a genuine company. I googled them and there seems to be loads of people who are convinced they're a scam. Appreciate boiler rooms (also loved the cinematic reference on the site) isn't your usual bag, but all scum are the same surely...

How was the site used? Was it to back up the legitimacy (having you look at the site, nothing else), or was it to login and/or give informations to it?

Well, I'm pretty much an innocent bystander with this site so I can't be sure what the intentions behind it are.

I clicked on a few of the links and there doesn't seem to be any way of contacting the baiter directly. This can only lead to the conclusion that it's a way of putting off potential 'customers' if they do any digging themselves. I guess the original website is so swish - and therefore convincing - that the guy who is doing it is saying... 'look, it's actually remarkably easy to make a legitimate-looking company' complete with Director Bios, Testimonials etc.

Whichever way you look at it, the scammer website is unlikely to end up in your Hall of Shame anytime soon (am seriously considering using some of those as my wallpaper!) and I guess a counter-PR campaign was what this baiter thought was necessary. Hats off.

I can't take the time to investigate fully, but there are many claims on the internet that the original .com site exists to lend legitimacy to an offshore boiler room operation. Boiler rooms are shady or outright fraudulent setups that use high-pressure tactics to sell thinly traded stocks. Often they are insider operations set up to inflate stock prices artificially (pump and dump). The OP's site is someone's attempt to out the alleged fraudsters.

Whoever these guys are, we don't bait these types of scammers so I'm moving this to Miscellaneous.
