What happened to my 419ers?

Up to the new year all I had to do to find a new lad to pick on was to visit my Spam Folder in Gmail.
Since then the lads have disappeared and been replaced with Spin King Cash and Office Max.....

Pretty rude, I think that the lads have given up on me.

What have others done to entice them back?

My baiting characters' spam mail box is filled each and every day....the in the catcher account, my cup runneth over. However, my RL accounts have spam folders filled with Rolex watch ads, Viagara, Cialis, and invitations to porn sites. And in Gmail you cannot block them like I could in Yahoo.

The solution you are looking for is to use a yahoo addy and then auto forward to Gmail.....

My characters Gmail addy's are spam free, I'm pulling my hair out trying to work out why I have been blessed with no spam.... Rolling Eyes

Mine's still good as ever, however if you haven't got any proper lads recently, perhaps it's time to put your catcher email address on a few more guestbooks to attract some more attention.

Of course, we've always go the surplus forum here as well.

I've signed a load of guestbooks, but I'm hardly getting any spam. Are lads wary of Gmail accounts? What could I do to get more lads? I only want to bait one or two at a time, but I'm hardly spoilt for choice at the moment.

I really have no catcher account, nor any listing in guestbooks. I have noticed a big push lately from the lads I toy with to go to yahoo though. I have also seen some trying to get me to different dating sites for some reason.

I had one whos only push seemed to be to friend me on Facebook. I had to wonder if they were just a spammer or a beggar. Either way I dropped them as I really didn't have any proof they were a lad.

^I do delete a lot of the trash I see over there but it's usually due to lazy replies. I get a lot of the "Hi, add me" stuff. The ones that try to pull me elsewhere i just give them a short "Is that an email" reply. I haven't seen and Facebook requests yet. Mine have been trying for "himillionaires" and one of my Asians, (I apologize for this reference but I don't know where this one is from), is pulling me to "gaga". The picture is cute but I may not want to know what that site is about.

Maybe it could be that these scams are not working and people are finally getting it that there is no 40 Million dollars sitting in cash boxes in Africa.
Also I think the scammers are very wary of us now I have been dropped twice by scammers if you don't send them any money after a couple of emails. They are not going to send out endless emails to try and hook you.
I think that they are moving towards the dating sites and craigslist they seem to have more success with these.

yes I do end up with more spam in my junk than emails from lads i normally trawl through my junk email and delete all the Viagra and penis enlargement spam just to get to the Lads emails.
Also I never reply to the ones that just say read attached file.
If they want to scam me then I need to see at least a bit of effort gone into the email.

I don't think anything suddenly happened to them... I think that your one particularly email address, was getting more spam than scam. It happens. A lot of it has to do with Gmail getting better (more intrusive) about catching the crap on the 'net. Good for people in general, I suppose. Bad for baiters - especially seeing as the lads are most certainly still out there.

Actually, I was using my work addy as my catcher and it isn't a Gmail addy.
Generally swept up 60 scams into spam & Trash...

Any (I should say all) Gmail add's I own are spam (and scam) free...!

Some good reason's but no one has nailed it yet...
