And my former employer contacts me with a job offer, and a good one too, allthough not as well paid as my last job. Needless to say, I took it. 
Bottomline: It's finally over! I am no longer between jobs! Yay for me!  |

^ No, it isn't the place I worked at last, but the place before that. And it's not the same position - I'm sales & communication consultant now, which basically covers making existing costumers feel like staying, maybe getting them to buy more, and also maintaining website texts, make sales letters and other sales material, stuff like that. A bit different from data refining, but I'll live.
Thanks guys, it really is dreadful not to have a job. Not because it has been a financial disaster for me - we have a good wellfare system here, which secures you enough to pay the rent and get a meal on the table every day, so I haven't been threatened on my existence... but the worst part is not having anything to do - but to look for something to do. I've never been unemployed before in my adult life, not since I came out of the Air Force at the age of 20. I've always been very good at finding new jobs when needed or desired, and I've almost alwyas gotten the jobs I pinpointed and applied for, whatever kind it was. But that was under different circumstances, and currently the competition is much harder. So it's been a whole new experience to me, maybe even a healthy one, not to take things for granted.
One of the worst things is the feeling of not contributing is not nice at all, and when you know you're trying everything you can and nothing is happening, it gets even worse. It's been hard for me to focus on anything else than finding a new job, even baiting, allthough I've tried to maintain a few ongoing baits. It's very stressfull, and to those who is in the same situation I was in until a few days ago - hang in there, and have faith in yourself - it's gonna happen, and you're gonna work again. And use your network, dammit! |
