I was in the local party store yesterday and walked by the WU station. There was a page-sized warning on the desk saying that they had caught three people trying to send money to scammers in the last month. Then the letter explained that if need to send money to get money don't do it! I commented on the note to the gal behind the counter and told her about eater.

I really like that. Perhaps the owner of the WU store would allow you to post it on their window AND inside their store directly on the counter - you know- just in case they missed the signage in the window.

^^ I agree; however, in reality people don't read signage, as in they don't read or understand the warnings on WU forms, nor the warnings posted on Craigs List. Recently when I pointed out the warnings at the MG place to a person they were surprised about sending money to people they don't know.

Heck, where I live they cannot even read the "Enter" and "Exit" signs!

it's easy to see how these fiddles work from here. In reality some folks really don't see it until they're thousands out of pocket or worse. The huge sums promised make the initial payments of a few hundred dollars or pounds look like a no-brainer. It's the usual risk/benefit caluculation that we do before every concious action. Unfortunately the size of the benefit skews people's thinking. They would think differently if they knew there was none. Telling them is good work if you can do it.

A good way i have found, to get people to read a notice and this is from experience is to, either spell a word wrong or miss out a word.

People just glance at a notice as they walk past, their subconscious then tells their brain that there is something wrong with the notice, many a time we have watched people came back to read it again, then they report the error. Laughing
