I received a response from a lad and he messed up because the response under mine was from a woman with this name. She was giving her address to this lad and I would hate it if this were a real victim..I think I blocked out all the sensitive info. Here is the email:

That could certainly be a lad mistake. I had a bait not long ago where the lad was sending me a picture. Rather than attaching it to a new email to me, he forwarded another message that had been sent to someone else, and he forgot to delete the other person's name and email address. I asked the lad about it and he said he goofed.

To be honest, I am not sure what is considered best practice or proper protocol when it comes to dealing with contact information of that nature. When my lad sent me that goof email, I contacted the person to let them know they were dealing with a scammer. Fortunately that person happened to be a fellow baiter. But if they hadn't been, I'm not sure I would have been prepared to convince them of the truth.

I don't know if it's best to contact them or have someone else do it? I mean, they're already dealing with a scammer via email, why should they believe someone who contacts them out of the blue making claims about scams?

I'd actually like to see some other opinions and thoughts on this in case it comes up in the future.

Forward it to a mod, either here or at ScamWarners. And don't point it out to the lad - the more they make mistakes like that, the more real victims can be helped Smile
