I can´t make my mind up if this actually is a scam or not.
At first the mail seemed like just a common marketing-spam, but perhaps it is more than meets the eye.

This is not some sort of shameless plug for my own blog (of course it it, who do I try to kid here) but since I publish the texts I write there I need to link to it...

This was the first mail and my answer:

You may note - as have been pointed out in another thread - that this is not scambaiting per se (but my twisted sense of humor at work), but - lo and behold! - "Jack" actually got an answer and they guy switched his email-address to Hotmail, since his official email-address "had a problem", so I guess this have the possibility to be a scammer after all.

This is the answer:

my guess would be that if you Google parts of his answer (those bits written in good English) you will find where he lifted them from

smells to me like another fake good reseller, bet he could sell you a large quantity of iPhone5, probably iPhone6 as well Wink if you had a need and had money to send him

love the UPS is "made of very thick iron" - not going to blow away in your typical local storm is it now?

his vague answer to #6 looks like he couldn't find much on Google, but if he is using Google then he might well find your blog too soon into your correspondence - this is why we approach publishing in certain ways on here, I know your are experienced in playing with these lads buy why not sign up for mentor? mentors have usually learnt over a number of years (often the hard way) what works & what doesn't

I do hope you stay around here, with your writing talents you would be a good addition to the crew

finally (!)
recently I bought "Delete This At Your Peril**" and whilst the material was covered on the radio show he did, it is still very funny - the talking lion is such a brilliant bait, and the "postie" madness will make you cry

And Jack answered:

Dear mr. Lee,
The compound being built will house a quite extensive data-center, at
least two external independent radar-systems for target tracking,
a heavy railgun-turret powered by a 64-megajoule (MJ) capacitor bank
using solid-state switches and high-energy-density capacitors and a
very potent ground-to-air directed energy weapon for incoming
unauthorized aircraft.

I am concerned about the "very thick iron" you mention for the
UPS-equipment housing, since I gather that an ordinary
armor-penetrating round would go through the iron without even
stopping, probably trashing the components. (A housing made of
reinforced titanium would be preferable.)

As a sidenote, this is exactly why my own henchmen all are equipped
with sidearms loaded with 5.56×45mm NATO rounds to be able to punch
fist-size holes in any bulletproof-vest wearing ground-force that sets
their foot on the island.

The explosive charges - C4, although it will do with the British army
PE4 - are meant as a lethal deterrent for any unauthorized party
trying to shut down the weapon-systems the UPS-equipment will be

I hope this cleared up any thoughts and concerns you had on the intended use.

Yours Sincerely,
Dr. J Kylar, PhD, M.A.D
