I knew in rl through work of a 60 year old single man with mental problems (think Forest Gump) who kept being hit by romance scams.

Every so often he'd get an email from some "woman," who wanted to come meet him and he'd WU her the transportation costs. Every time he got burned despite everyone warning him.

Guy was living on welfare. He eventually lost his apartment. I don't know what happened to him after that.

Hello- newbie here- I work in the wire/electronic payment fraud dept of a mega-bank and this kind of thing just breaks my heart and makes me sick!!! We see stuff like this every day and when we tell the person (usually elderly) that we're not going to send the money they pitch a fit!!!! Very rarely do they understand our reasoning and it kills me to know they're just going to find another way to send the money.

Just had to vent- this hits too close to home for me. That's why I'm here. Crying or Very sad
