Amusing,but it didn't really accomplish anything.The lad read a little of it and moved on.Think of how much better it would be if you convinced him that you were serious,and then wasted a huge amount of his time.Maybe gotten a bank account out of him to forward for killing.

This bank has been fully acquired by Ecobank in October.

Sending the westy is good thing. Sending the details by email is not as it is not secure. Use the faxed it right over works wonders. List the real bank fax number. Works best when they give a branch name.

The proper forms to fill out are on the real website. Since the fax is not color, tell them you posted the color passport photo to the branch.

hah yep you're very right but in my defence is that it was my very first attempt at any kind of response to these e-mails, a taster if you will!

I have been reading the uploaded scambaits and I have to say they are absolutely fantastic! Definitely something to aim for and to work towards and they have given me lots of ideas! I aspire to be able to bait scammers to that level one day! Very Happy

It was satisfying to send that reply but I can see that you would get so much more satisfaction out of stringing them along for as long as you can!

Is it just a case of waiting for the e-mails to come in? or is there anyway you can 'lure' these scammers into messaging you (and in that way ensuring they waste time talking to you and aren't busy scamming other innocents?)

If you go to the Surplus forum,you will find all kinds of scams posted for you to bait.Don't worry about the fact that it was not sent to you.The lads do mass mailings and don't keep track of who they sent it to.
As I said,welcome aboard!Read the stickies and sign up for a mentor if you want.Above all,bait safe.Dont hesitate to ask questions-we all started out somewhere.
