I found a term we might could use. When several baiters are baiting several scammers, and the scammers are so scared they stop behaving rationally, it's a bait ball. In real life, a bait ball is a group of forage fish (fish that serve mainly as food for bigger fish or whales) that, instead of swimming in a school to their destination, have been herded by predators into a dense ball. The predators pick off any fish that try to escape and then attack the ball swallowing several fish at once. Sometimes a whale comes along and swallows the entire ball in one gulp. |
