One of my check lads sent a prepaid phone card & a note and a number to call for WU instructions?!?! Never heard of this before. The lad went silent around the time that the fake check was supposedly in the mail & I figured he twigged. Then this showed up. Obviously I'm not going to use the card... too much like cash baiting for my taste (not even going to debate it) but what do I do with it? Send it back? Report it to someone (who)? Cut it up & throw it away? And why the heck did he do this anyway .... lads don't normally want to spend money???? |

I've never heard of this but it is cleaver. I would highly doubt the lad spent any money on the phone card though. More than likely bought with a stollen or phished CC. |

I believe that they try to get you to activate the card. Then they can use it for themselves, or somehow cash it in. I have heard of giftcard scams like this too. Usually a victim pays for it and you get to help launder the cash for them and be another middleman. |
