Hi everybody!
I'm not baiting (yet?) but I enjoy reading all those wonderful stories. It's fantastic what can be done if some of the experienced baiters join forces!

I recently stumbled upon this site, so I had to join up. I have been collecting fake checks for a couple years now. It started when I thought I had a legitimate check coming for an item I had listed on CL. I had a buyer who was sending a shipper to pick the item up. I was falling for the scam because I have actually sold vehicles on ebay and had shippers come and pick them up, and never had any problems with the payment. Needless to say, when a check for $2950 arrived for a $120 item, red flags went up. I emailed the sender and told them that I was aware that it was a scam, and I never heard from him again. Since then, I have collected quite a few, and have been yelled at via email a few times. I realize now how stupid I was being, using RL info. I recently moved, and I have since created a bait email account. I do plan on getting a mentor as well.
Thanks for the great site!

Welcome to Eater!

Georg, tell the lad that resistance is useless, he will be safaried. Send Alessandro to Ouagadougou with the money; the lad will travel to Upper Volta to pick it up!

Watt, did you say?

Yes, go to Ouaga, and let nothing ampere you in your journey! Very Happy

Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know that I'm a new lurker. Wink

Long time IT network security professional and email server administrator, so I've certainly collected a few 419s and such-like over the years, and have oft been frustrated that these knuckleheads continue to waste my valuable time (and that of my users) by spewing out their garbage. That's why it is quite refreshing to see the "lads" get a taste of their own medicine through some very creative reverse-scamming.

Thank you for your efforts in stringing along these low-life thieves, wasting their time for a change, taking a bite out of their ill-gotten gains, and documenting it for all the world to see. You're providing a great service and I appreciate it. Kudos! Very Happy

Hello all!

I'm very impressed with the creativity and commitment of the veteran members here! After reading up on the site, I can't wait to get involved. After harvesting 5 or 6 assorted scams (2 lotto scams included, and one that said I had been reported dead and my account containing $8M was about to go to some lady, lol) out of my spam folder, I dropped a couple of brief replies... it appears that the originating IPs were in Brazil, though the bodies of the emails indicated Nigeria. Anyhoo, I'll wait for the word back and then I'm in!

Wish me luck!

Hello PantzOnFya! Welcome to Eater! Looks like you're ready to start. Grab a mentor here http://forum.419eater.com/forum/cherrie_mentor_program.php, read the stickys and always bait safe. Never use any personal information when dealing with the lads. If the ones that you mention have your RL info, drop any contact. Start a new email with baiter info and go for it.

Hi Im new to the forum, discovered it late last week while searching for some info about a scam. A very good friend was taken in last year, and lost quite a bit of money. She was so embarrased that she only told me about it a few days ago. I get my fair share of scam mails, but always thought people are too clever to fall for it, seems Im sooo wrong!

I have enjoyed reading some of the posts over the weekend, and think Im going to join the war against these lads! will go though the stickys during the week and see if i can draw up a battle plan. Smile

Hope to get to kow you all!

Welcome here, Ruby, and we are sorry for your friend.

Sadly, this happens all too often, and this one of the things that lads count on.

I would suggest sending your friend to Scamwarners.com - there she will find information and support.

Hi!..Wanted to introduce myself, just joined and I am kinda star struck by the volume of constructive information on this forum. Keep up the good work!, I am glad there are resources like this on the internet. How I ended up here is a testament to that.

I never knew this level of malevolence exist in what I just found out is a thriving scam market in Nigeria. Because of the info on this site and others like it, no less than two hours ago, I abruptly realized I am presently the victim of a romance scam. THANK GOD!..I haven’t lost anything.(now that I think about it, I lost my TIME!!)I have done my homework, and I am not too sure on how to proceed, it seems slightly dangerous. Still, I would love to repay the favor to my new Nigerian lover. So as I ponder my next move, I wanted to say thanks for this brilliant information blog, hoping to find it handy.

Good for you! Welcome to Eater. Never baiting a lad with your personal information is a mantra around here and for good cause. Drop all contact with that lad and get a baiter persona to go after him. There are some great romance baiters here who I'm sure would help you out in that department. In the meanwhile, get yourself a free mentor and bait safe!

Hello everyone, learned about the sport of baiting just the other day and I think it's a brilliant idea. Being a troll at my school helps too. I've got one on the hook right now and I'm ready give these idiots a lesson.

Glad I can be part of the eater community.

@Kronuk - welcome to Eater Smile . I'll give you the usual list:
- read the stickies
- get a mentor
- bait safe
- have fun

@Pepsibottle - I guess someone's already given you the usual rundown of things, so I'll just say that everyone here would prefer that you keep your trolling pointed against the lads Wink

I haven't put a welcome on the board for a while. My apologies! Welcome to all of you. Please read until you are fed up with it, then read some more.

When you are ready, with a character or 12, set up safely, and a mentor to help you along, this is a lot of fun!

Hi folks.

I've just spent days (honestly!) reading through this website to the point where my eyes are sore. I swear I've read some things more than once. Shiver Metimbers' baits are possible the most wonderful thing I've ever come across on the internet (and bear in mind I've been known to watch porn).

Anyway, at the risk of rambling, I found my way here, probably as many do, through curiosity. At work, our junk box fills with literally about 150 419 e-mails a day. I used to consider tham funny, but it's been going on for so long that they rarely amuse me anymore. One that sticks in my memory is one about two years ago that claimed to be a Ghanaian police chief who had news that a relative (no word of a lie, he claimed it was "probably my, or rather whoever the victim happened to be's, mother OR father!) was being held by a criminal gang in Ghana and a large sum of money was needed to extricate them. Don't worry, I didn't fall for it. But my boss, who is in his 60s, occasional gets them into his main inbox and knows little about the online world. We've had to save him a few times!

I always wondered what would happen if you replied to these games and tried to lead them a merry dance. Well, I had no idea the world of baiting was so wide! I found this site a few days ago and haven't stopped reading since, including at work (except to sleep, not at work).

I feel I probably still have more reading to do before I get involved in baiting but I'm looking forward to a bit of fun of my own along the way.
