Hi, I found this site a few weeks ago and thought the one with the link where the lad filled out the fake online money transfer questions (how many times did you eat carrots this week?) was hilarious. Anyway, I got myself a safe email and replied to someone spamming the internet (from the scammer targetting autistic peope thread). I thought that one's generic love-letter tactics were funny, because I remember when I used to get letters from "women" always from Senegal when I was on livemocha, saying they felt a connection with me from my profile, but all my profile said was that I "speak English" and am "learning Spanish" with no picture uploaded. I wish I knew about scambaiting back then.

I am really enjoying reading the scambaits posted on this site. I don't have the patience or perseverance that you all have, and don't think I'd be any good at this, but I commend you all for being able to stick it to these ruthless dirtbags.

I've looked all over the site and have a few questions:

1) What is a dolla drop?
2) Is there an extended glossary other than in the FAQs? I'm having a hard time with some of the slang.
3) Is there a big difference between scams and spam? I'm assuming that all the Viagra emails I get classify more as spam, but what about the emails claiming to be from Russian women who want to meet me, secret shopper emails, and online casinos?

ETA 3rd question.

Please read a little mainly the stickies and EaterU. It does not take much to bait and you control the pace.

1) A dollachop is when a Baiter uses another character to "steal" the lads money. The character can be a family member, banker or another lad like the infamous Mr Gomer (superstar lad created by baiters).

3) While all scams can be considered spam not all spam is considered a scam. We only bait AFF (Advanced Fee Fraud) see the surplus letters forum for examples.

I just joined up, because this looks like a friendly place. I've been lurking for a while, and have been baiting scammers for nearly a year now, and finally decided to get an account here. I work in fraud investigation in realtime, and have directed many people to check out this site for verification.

Everywhere on the web, everyone says this site is the number one anti-419 resource for the public. So of course I want to be a member.

Although new to the forum, I like others have been watching the trophy room for a while now... ok years now! BRILLIANT STUFF everyone!!

Im an aussie girl who just wants to raise my hand up finally (after so long) and say that I really admire all the work done here, and look forward to taking notes on trying a little baiting myself - I get sooooo many of these 419 requests its just insane (have had my free yahoo email in 1996!!) so it would finally be good to give something back to the community!

I've been reading the stickies and got my prior questions answered and have been reading voraciously since I signed up.

I just wanted to add that I'm a former "victim" of a very bad person and reading all the fun here has been very therapeutic. It makes me realize that Karma does come through sometimes, and I can only hope that the person who hurt me has given up the game after his little holiday in the state pen.

I am new here. Have been baiting the same guy for about a month. I am supposed to fly to Dublin to go and collect money on Tuesday morning and fly back home with the loot in my possession. Note that I have not bought a 'plane ticket nor have I really arranged the the money needed to collect the loot. It is all part of my scam to the scammer. Twisted Evil

This relationship is ending when I do not arrive in Dublin on Tuesday 24 May Laughing

Any advise on another way to end the red love relationship? Razz

I do not see a thread on Skype scams. Is there one?

Couldn't believe what I was seeing when I first logged on here, heard all about you guys on another forum.

My hat is off to you all I just hope I can get the hang of it well enough to bait some scammers of my own.

I found a scammer just the other day but I'm known by the scammer so not sure if I could pull it off without him sussing me. Specially seeing as he has scammed some folks I know. I think I'd get too personal....
What do you think??

Welcome to eater, Red7. Please take a look at Seamless's post just before yours with the link to safe baiting guidelines. If the lad you are thinking about has your personal info, don't bait him. Feel free to post his scam in the Surplus forum and maybe someone else will have a go at him.

What is the link to the surplus forum. I do have a few surpluses Raga man. The problem with my lad is that he has logged into my Skype and I have been tagging him along. Wonder if someone here will take him over from me. This lad in notorious for running scams and spams and I think that he will be worth the pursuit

About the flight to Dublin, it could be diverted to Northern Ireland because someone rang the bell fast, or you could have missed it because the plane you took to meet the plane to Dublin was delayed by weather (this has happened to me in RL). That way you can fail to arrive in Dublin and continue the bait. Or if you're coming from Africa, it could land in triple-E instead of double-N. Very Happy
