Read an article in a Dutch newspaper, created a fake Gmail account using the nearest price tag from a recently bought piece of clothing. Funny how helpfull a price tag from a newly bought pair of pyamas can be.

Hello there! Just received a spammy mail last week, and while looking for a place where to report it, I came across 419eater.

I've laughed so hard reading the great classics here (church of the red breast, Busted!, and many more), that I've decided to sign up and give this thing a try. I've already got some ideas Smile

I came across romance scamming quite a long time ago (no I don't lost money) but it annoyed me so much that I decided to fight back.

Didn't know, that I'm a scam baiter though and didn't know my hobby has a proper name. Very Happy

I`m a bit rusted, but allready workign on my first lad again. Alltough immediatly he wants a mobile phone number... For now i`ll be delaying this, but he`s getting pissed that i avoid his direct question.... Anyone know where to get an online phonenumber he can text to??

Hi!

I am a first time poster, but I have been lurking on these forums for about 2 days now, and I find this stuff hilarious. I was excited when this site showed up on reddit because I love to mess with the people who make it past my spam folder or cold call me (I am on the National US Do-Not-Call list for the safety of the scammers Wink

).

Currently I am just about to leave Uni and go into the working world in information security, so every interaction with these guys nets me more information I can use to protect staff members.

The last person I messed with appeared to be some immigrant from the middle east (judging by her accent). I baited her and then traced their #, all I could get was that it was a landline somewhere in the Nebraska! So that was fun, because she apparently didn't have caller ID, or understand the reasoning why you shouldn't use your own # for spamming. (for those interested, it was a boring check cashing scam they were running posing as google financial services). And I didn't have to pay extra to call her.

Personally I use Google voice to mask my phone #, and my recent google # has the word mugu in it! (which was a phrase I learned yesterday).

So I picked up some tricks from you guys and scanned my spam folder for email addresses. I hope to post a couple of transcripts here soon!

That thread you took off and moved here can be completely deleted if nobody has posted behind you. There is an X in the upper right hand corner of your post to delete it. Killing that post will also kill that mistaken thread.

Thanks Victim, I took your advice and closed the thread. I'm used to posting in forums that restrict members abilities to do things like that.

I have been browsing your threads, and as someone suggested I am in the process of corrupting an image file to send to my lad.

BTW, how would i go about finding a mentor?
