Wow! That shit is scary. I remember watching something on TV a few weeks ago (Some "most dangerous" or something, and one the clips featured was in Nigeria (I think). This guy had stolen a woman's purse and onlookers chased him down and beat him nearly to death. |

I think perhaps because the Police are perceived in many countries as corrupt and useless, there is a long history of a angry mob taking things into their own hands, as those of us who read the Daily Sun (and other similar papers) on a regular basis will recognize.
Unfortunately, without any due process, they don't always get it right. The UK's Guardian recently did a harrowing story about a mob in South Africa, who hadn't found the person they were looking for, picking on a passing youth because he was foreign and in the wrong place. When someone in the crowd anonymously accused him of being a criminal, he was beaten to death. |

Its really sad, no amount of money is worth a single life.
Mobs will never solve the problem of crime, as above its mostly the innocent who pay for the actions of others. They merely become the criminals themselves.
The other issue is this happens all around the world all too often, mankind can be so stupid at times. |
