English typical for Africans; sob story (divorced from a bitch or a widower) and a kid he takes care of; text passages copied from elsewhere; job which involves travelling (engineer, soldier, or art dealer most of the time).

I've literally dealt with thousands of romance scammers and victims at this point. You get to the point where you can spot most scam profiles from a mile away, often just from certain giveaways in the language.

It looks like the problem with CD is the email limit. They have imposed a limit of 10 free messages to other members, then you have to pay for more. Unless the scammers are willing to use stolen credit cards, they would quickly burn through their 10 and not be able to message anyone else for free. That's probably why you aren't getting responses.

With the number of other dating sites that don't have such limits, I would just move on to another. Because I work with romance victims a lot, I always have info for plenty of worthy candidates for baiting too--I'm always willing to pass some on (in fact sometimes I post special requests). But I still strongly encourage setting up profiles to be contacted by scammers, as it gives you a much better insight as to how it actually works--plus, you have much less suspicion to deal with when the scammer contacted you first. Zoosk is looking really good right now--though I don't have a profile there, I am seeing many victims who met their scammers there.
