please see pasted email . I have said that I will accommodate his imaginary visitors. His angle is??

Thanks for your reply. I wish to tell you that the offer is acceptable by them and they are willing to make a payment immediately. I have concluded payment with them and I have been instructed to pay you for your services and provision of a language translator whom would be able to translate every word to them because they are Greeks.I have arranged this with a linguist who is willing to undertake these responsibilities on their behalf. He would be with them throughout their stay with you.
I will send you my credit card details when I receive your confirmation email so that you would charge as agreed/authorized by my clients.
Please upon the receipt of my credit card, confirm you will charge as follows:Take the cost of your services plus £5900 for the Translator from my card. Then retain your cost and send the balance of £5900 to the Translator.I really need you to make the charges for the Translator as he does not have a POS machine.Confirm this and provide me with the following:
Your full name/address/Telephone
Looking forward to your reply.

The credit card is phished or stolen. The "translator" is the scammer himself.

You are supposed to charge to total on the card, then forward the "translator" fees by Western Union.

Later, the card is found to be compromised, the transaction is reversed, and you are out the "translator" fees that the scammer has walked away with.

The bastard wants £5,900 for his translator fees .
Is there any way of making him lose on this or should I back off?

I did a similar bait a few days ago, took the credit card details from the lad and reported straight to a mod, and it was reported to Visa fraud!

We can and do bait these scammers--as chrishill said, we have key contacts in the fraud department that are very interested in getting these compromised numbers!

However, Sahte is also right when it comes to businesses. If your real business is contacted by anyone asking you to run a credit card for over the total bill, and forward the excess money anywhere, then it is best to walk away immediately.
