Last year the Belgians were scammed an amount of 120 million Euros.
These figures were provided by the federal police.
The amount represents a near-doubling of 2009.
The average lost is Euro 7140 per victim compared to 6031 euros the previous year.
The greatest damage was someone who lost 310,000 euro in a fraudulent investment. In the same case Belgians altogether were scammed for 2 million euros.
The police statistics show that the incidence of fraud does not increase. Last year the police received 4,354 reports, compared to 4,989 in 2009. Not all Internet scams are reported.

Belgium has about 10 million inhabitants so personally I think above figures are quite high  |

The figures are probably estimates. And i assume that these scams involve the ones that we are not dealing with that much. But it does seem like a high figure as you noted. |

^^ I had a talk with an officer that works at the internet crime unit and he confirmed that a lot of 419 is involved. |
