I think it's time to apply what I've read here and start baiting some lads again. I took a bit of a hiatus from the sport as soon as I joined up, mostly so I could focus on learning new tricks and ideas in here.

I don't have a mentor yet (that's next), but I think I've picked up enough to bait more effectively and have more fun. Some of the rules & ethics didn't make sense at first (some still don't but I'm sure they will), but now I'm seeing baiting in a different light.

I'm recycling one lad and have just picked up a new one. Nothing massive (quality over quantity), and this time they'll have to wait longer for my replies. They'll also have nobody but themselves to blame when they can't collect their WU transfers, and now that I know about Alan, they're going to hurt in ways they didn't think were even possible. And of course, it'll be entirely their fault when I can't transfer money into an inactive bank account!

This is gonna be fun.

They're mostly aimed at staying on the right side of the law and reducing (ideally, preventing) the impact on noncombatants, ie not giving the lads useful material that they coul reuse to scam someone else; not actually committing wire fraud yourself, that sort of thing. ask away. But most imprtantly, bedevil your lads with confusion and torment and disappointment.

One rule that somewhat doesn't make sense is the rule about not trying to get into the lads' email accounts. I know hacking is out of the question because it's against the law, but there are other methods than that. Maybe it's a safety issue, or maybe it's a little too close to illegal activity.

I also note that any political or religious threads are relatively taboo in the forum, but maybe that's because such topics have caused problems here before. If that's the reason, then it makes perfect sense.

The safety rules make perfect sense, and so do the ones like no ITP's and no cash baiting.

I'm still a newbie, so I'm sure there's lots I'll learn in the months to come.

Without the lad's permission, it's illegal to go into his email account. I had this issue during a recent bait that I published. Fortunately, the lad offered his account info without me asking for it, and gave me permission to go into it. Without this express permission it is illegal. I felt dirty going into his box with permission, and I'll never take another password offered to me again. The rules are there because it's what sets us apart from the lads. We do a lot of things that the general public wouldn't and doesn't understand, and these rules are in place to set us apart from the lads. We're the good guys, we don't need to sink to their level. Without rules, we wouldn't be any different from the lads, we'd only be lads that go after lads, and that's not what we're here to be. We're the good guys, and the rules are in place to ensure that none of us crosses the line and breaks the law.

I've belonged to some other internet forums (though not baiting), where they have similar rules. On these forums these rules are in place, mainly because, first, that's not the point of the forum. Secondly, they don't allow it because in the past things got a little ugly when debating these. Religion and politics are things that people are can be pretty passionate about. Now, I haven't been on eater for a long time, but I'm guessing it's the same case here.
