It's fake, of course. I know it is because my current pet is using this "delivery service" to send me my million$ of dollars. (As soon as I send them the shipping fee via bank transfer, of course.)

But it's a pretty good fake to my eye. So, educate me a little. What do you see--aside from the WU and MG thing--that you would consider tip-offs?

check the credit cards, I am sure visa or mastercard have a list of business they are accepted at, also, the fact that the contact info is for nigeria

well I did a Googlemaps search of the Colorado address and when I look at the street view its a residential area. Shocked

I've done lots of legitimate CC transactions that come back with entirely different business names.

The CSS on this sucker is AWFUL, justified RIGHT?!?!? Even I know people read left to right and so a website would normally be justified left. THIS site should be centred however.

I suspect he previewed it ONLY in IE 7, whose CSS support is somewhat lacking. The "quote" form doesn't work of course. The lads put a bit of work into it, but it still needs to be shut down. Then you can tear lad a new one for not being professional

the UK address in Pembrokeshire is also a residential address and I've never seen "Pembrokeshire" abbreviated to "PEMB,S".

finding these is easy - Google a large portion of the text on the front page and it comes straight up. The site is ripped wholesale, with the only bits changed being the badly done contact details. These are nonsense and written in capitals, naturally ... Laughing

Another way to do what Nailgunner did is to enter the URL here and it will search for sites that are similar. And always check the Whois (here). In this case you'll see that the site is only registered for one year, which isn't a sure sign of a fake but it's a good indicator (especially as the site claims to have been in business since 2001). The good news is that it will be shut down shortly after Artemis enters it into the aa419 database, since it's hosted by Directi. The bad news (for you, at least) is that we don't get flags from Directi sites.

the Tineye plugin for Firefox is another very good tool in a similar vein, just right click on the image and search for duplicates on other sites. There's some good kit around these days.

I see it's already databased and will go down automatically but here's what I would put in my report as that might answer your question:

* Whois shows one year registration since april but claims copyright since 2001
* +4470 telephone number
* Claims to be a company in the UK but is not registered at Companieshouse (check HERE)
* Western Union + Moneygram
* On the page "Our Company":

Thanks everyone. I had seen references to site killing, but never really dug into the subject until now. I will continue to study.

Hopefully the site will be down by Tuesday. I would like to use that in my next email.

I notice that http://www.globaldeliveryelite.com has stopped working, but http://globaldeliveryelite.com (without the "www") still works. I believe that both worked yesterday. Is this typical? Will the non-"www" version go down too, or is there something else that needs to be done?

It appears the web site is dead! It's very rewarding to actually see the results (site disappears). I want to do more of this!

One interesting thing: The email address for the courier lad went down with the site (same domain name). But, what seems strange to me--the gmail account of the primary scammer went down simultaneously. Was this merely a coincidence, or could there be a connection? I wonder if the gmail address was used to register the web site, and was reported to Google?

For now, I'm completely out of touch with the lad. Hopefully he will come back to me with a new addy.

LND, you should kill the site yourself. One way to hurt the lads is to kill their sites. They invest time into them, rely on them, and when they get killed, it disrupts their work.

Take a walk down to the fake sites forum and open a thread. Killing sites is a lot of fun.

@Mojo Risin: Thata a fake. Take that down to fake sites and start your own flag collection.
