I have a lad that sent me his bank information for a transfer. I forwarded that information, along with the supporting scam documentation, to Alan and waited a few days to give the lad the bad news about the transfer not working. He confirmed that there was a problem with the account, I think, by saying I was forwarded some wrong information. However, the "corrected" information is exactly the same except for the name of the bank. The first bank was Sainsbury Online Bank and the "corrected" information was for Santander Bank. Any idea what he is trying to pull and how I should reply? I was thinking of just acting confused by his changing only the bank name but I don't think I should send this new name to Alan just yet until I figure out what is going on. Looks like the lad screwed up the first time. The BIC code given is for Santander, and the IBAN agrees.

Send the new info to Alan with a short explanation (corrected version from scammer).

When a lad sends you a bank account for purposes of receiving money, odds are pretty good that it's genuine, but occasionally he gets it wrong.
