Lads always have their "lawyer" make the idiotic thing of asking me for the father's death certificate and all this crazy stuff, which just results in me e-mailing the "victim" and telling them to send those documents to the lawyer. I've done variations where I insist that I don't know anything about any goddamn death certificate and I don't have it.

But I feel this guy set himself up for this.

In view of above and from my inquiries, it will cost the sum of $650 dollars for authentication of the power of attorney, $350 dollars for swearing of the affidavit of oath at the federal high court here before it becomes valid, $450 dollars for notary stamping at the notary office (before it will go out from Senegal here) and my legal processing fee of $500 dollars.

Total ($2050 dollars only) to get everything done.

While I'm sure I can't get "her" to pay all that, I'm pretty sure I can reduce that amount of money from $2050 to something much lower with Faith supposedly paying for part of it. Especially if I make it out to be unfair for me to pay for all of it.

But for now... I'm going with the "What? I'm helping YOU out and you want ME to pay for this?" strategy.

While i liked your tactic a am bit against haggling for money that you are not gonna to pay anyway. The reason for this is that the more money the lad expects the more disappointed/angry he is be when he doesn't get it.

But it is of course always nice to take up as much of his time as humanly possible.

While I think that would make sense, ironically the lads who have gotten the most pissed at me are the ones who have been fighting over a relatively small amount of money liek $200 or $300. For example, I have been baiting a guy for 4-5 months now who has never once changed the amount of money he needs... $150. But this guy is probably the most angry and frustrated scammer I have ever dealt with. I think I'm at the end of the dealing with him because he's yelling at me, calling me names, insulting my like crazy, but then saying "If you do want the money, send the fee by Western Union to ____ you FOOL!!!" which makes no sense since no one in their right mind (even the kind of mind that would fall for a scammer like this) would send him money after him sending e-mail after e-mail of insults.

So I find that the amount of the money isn't as important as you would logically think. My main goal here is to waste the lad's time and cause him/her stress.

I wasted so much of "their" time with them not budging until I inferred that I would have to unfortunately stop the deal if I had to pay the full amount and I'm guessing the lad got fidgety and gave in.
