I've only been scambaiting for about week and a half but I think I may have already hit rock bottom in terms of lads. Poor Drew Peacock was just looking for a relationship as a distraction from his fertility clinic work and he received this out of the blue:
Anyone want to tell me what an "artcow" is? 
I really want to have some fun with this lad, but I don't even know where to begin! |

Probably your new friend is afraid that they will be named on the site as a scammer and/or have their profile deleted, so want to get you onto chat or email right away. A real potential victim may be put off by 'can i have your id now', so sending your ID (email address) is a good way to encourage the lad to repeat this PM (and alienate the real date-seekers) ... because the lad will then think that it 'works'.
Where to begin? Just pretend that your character is interested in this person ... what would he say? How would he introduce himself? When he reads the reply to his email, what would he say next? Don't go to too much effort ... let your character be a one-finger typist who thinks that one paragraph is Quite A Lot Of Letter To Type. But get the lad believing in him and his life. Write some chatty emails, mentioning your unreliable car, and your out-of-town location, and your long working hours, and your sick mother, etc - anything that might come in useful later for delaying when the lad says, 'Please go to Western Union and send me some money'.

I guess I'm the real mugu today - I thought the lad was asking for an ID like a passport or something... 
I've got a copy of Otterfan's straight-baiting guide here in front of me, but I couldn't decide on a good way to respond to something as asinine as a request for personal ID out of the blue without any explanation.
