Yay we've got a bit of a thaw!
Which means we've got water lying on top of packed ice on some roads.
Makes driving interesting.

If anyone is wondering the car in question was a mini, wasn't so much wrestling as squashing together

Just got the first of many blizzards on Saturday, 10.6" (approx.50cm?) officially, 5' drifts around the abode. Took most of the day to remove/keep up with the snow. Now we are expecting -25F wind chills in the a.m. The hoary beast has arrived!

We had a 2 day thaw, which melted a lot of the snow, but now it's back to winter and lake effect. Single-digit temperatures, winds, and blowing and drifting snow. We're looking at another 2 feet of snow in the next few days Sad

@Dwatina: Single digit temperatures are thaw-temperatures. Currently, I'd even consider positive single-digit temperatures subtropical and therefore unwanted. I want ICE!

@Badgerbait: Central New York has been nailed with a lot of snow so early in the season. I hate lake effect snow. Where abouts are you?

Ah, I remember living in the Land of the Chosen Frozen. We did have a hard freeze last night but tomorrow the forecast is up to 71 degrees Fahrenheit.

@Dwatina: Yes, a positive single (or multiple) digit temperature means the temperature is above the freezing point of water, therefore it's thawing.

We had our share yesterday. My better half needed 5 hours for an 80 km drive home last night. (normally 45 minutes to 1 hour) The west and middle part of Holland grinded to a complete halt during the evening peak.

We have plenty of snow in southern Quebec, and it's mild where I live today. It's -5C and I heard that on Wednesday, the temperature is rising to a balmy 0C! Time to break out the tees and shorts!
