Foot and a half of snow since yesterday. Another six to eight inches tonight and another six to eight inches tomorrow. Thanks God for 4WD.

Maine got snow FINALLY!! Well north of the ghetto (Lewiston) which includes my neck of the woods. 3-6 inches. Nothing to complain about.

we're getting a lot of snow. They're' talking another 12-18 inches on top of what we got since yesterday afternoon. Overall, we're looking at a forecast of 3 feet of snow within 3 days. We really got nailed early this year.

Oh--4WD and snow tires--EXCELLENT! I can definitely feel and sense the difference between all season and these snow tires (even though 4WD helps a ton). But it depends upon the roads--if they are rutted and half-ass plowed, I'm just bouncing so no real advantage. But through the deep unplowed stuff and slush, I'm good to go.

I tackled a few hills today that most people avoid in the winter. Thumbs up

I remember years ago when Door or Kewaunee County would get a foot of lake effect snow, and you would get zero.

Looks like one of those years PF. Anyone in the SE corner of any of the lakes is getting hammered. We have to wait for a Low to draw moisture from the Gulf. Sad. We still get the cold, not like I.Falls or Baudette, but cold enough!

Nanny, sounds like you could use my snowshoes, I'm not using them!

We're not used to thick deep snow
Slush, sideways sleet, cold wind blowing up the kilt, we can cope with but feet of snow falling across Central Scotland has caused gridlock, disruption and irritation in general

I've never had the locks freeze on the volvo before, when I was in it!

Sure its the locks? Sometimes (previous experience) moisture can get trapped between the weatherstrip and door frame creating a thin but ultra strong adhesive later of ice. I have had to kick a door violently to get out of a vehicle already. Developed temporary claustrophobia that day!

I swore violently at it, seemed to do the trick, eventually
I was wondering if I'd need to eat the emergency chocolate kept in the glove box, perhaps I shouldn't have shoved the door so hard after all

Almost 29 inches of snow so far, and another foot by tomorrow night. Then a lull for a few days, and a big storm of snow, sleet, freezing rain Sunday night, and more lake effect early next week. We're really getting clobbered early.

has anyone noticed that the 'climate change lobby' (AKA ' global warming' lobby) say this is "just weather" until there is a warm summer then it suddenly becomes "climate change"?

Anyway--so far as snow Syracuse's airport has the largest snow plow with a blade in the world:

Having a science background and knowing a bit about computer modelling I prefer to listen to real scientists like Prof Brian Cox rather than someone who thinks he understands, but really only grasps like 0.005% on a good day

We got almost another foot over night and more today. We're gonna have over four feet of snow by this thing ends Thursday. Driving today into work was not fun at all.
