Why lock it? I figure might as well keep it open so he doesn't start a new thread elsewhere about the same thing.

But that's up to the mods. I'm not saying whether it should be locked or not, but it's the mods' decision.

@Chuda: He has been given a chance, and I'm sure he will be given more chances.

We are just trying to explain that things are not as broken and confusing as he seems to feel. No one else is complaining, except him. And when we explain how the place works, he argues just to argue.

And members are feeling like this: banghead

It will work out in the end, I'm sure.

Still it's nice to be able to occasionally pop in and read an entertaining thread like this. Brings back memories. I see the Mods still have the patience of Job. Oops, back on topic.

I have read this thread with utter amazement : I am new here myself and I never ever experienced anyone being hostile, ridiculing, or refusing to answer any question, be it from a noob or anyone else. (except the occasional spammer lol).

There are forums where noobs or inexperienced people are scared away because they are ridiculed. Once I joined a forum for "professional & amateur photographers" - well I quit because every simple question from beginning amateurs was ridiculed and all these threads ended up in insults and fights.
I have never experienced anything like this here. I did, however, apply for a mentor, follow his advice and that of the more experienced baiters around here.

That being said, there are people who are compulsive fight-pickers. I know a couple of those in real life. Whatever you do, it will always be a reason to a) gossip or comment about it, and b) lure you into endless discussions about who is right and who is wrong. Such people are impossible to satisfy and impossible to reason with.

Edskar chose to ignore Bravo's proposal but did take the time to continue posting remarks here. I'm sorry but I don't find that very constructive.

I agree with Chuda that noobs should not be scared away, but I also believe that in this particular thread, Edskar got a whole lot of opportunities he didn't take.
