Yesterday, several of my email accounts were hacked and a message was sent out to all my contacts saying that I(the hacker) was stranded in London, UK, had been robbed at gunpoint and needed money sent to get out. I have since regained control of my accounts. When I went to reset my settings, I noticed that all of my accounts had been set to forward incoming messages to the following email:
[email protected]
Is this likely the scammer's email account? I've got a bit of a personal vendetta against him now, since his hacking has interfered with the volunteer work I do with my church and I would like to scambait him. This would be my first venture into this hobby so any suggestions on how to proceed would be very much appreciated. |

My first answer under here.
Welcome, you're at the right address, but we have to watch a few things.
He has your email, probably your address and your own name.
So after you clean your computer from any spy-ware that might be on there and you made sure that it can't happen again, we're ready to go into the offensive.
Make a new email account with fast mail or Gmail with all fake info and you don't give an alternate email to confirm. Means that if you lose your PW you're hooped cause they can't sent it to you. Write them down!
a)Now as your new character you can drop your new friend an Asem (=Accidental Sent Email Message) and start the game. Search the forum for ASEM and you'll find lots of examples.
b) You can pretend with your new Character that you actually believe him and ask to help out you(your hacked one) and play it from there.
Or make two new email addy's and do both.
Only use the new addy's online, don't route them back to Outlook or so cause that program will kindly add you IP# back to the email when you send from there.

...also, make sure that everybody he might have contacted know that this is a scam, and you were not robbed and stranded in London, and don't need them to send money. |

This was the first thing I did once I got my accounts back. Spent the whole day getting phone calls from people though asking if I was okay.  |
