In an effort to increase the exposure of 419Eater we are looking at putting together a small advertising campaign. In order to do this we are looking for some of you more creative types to help us with some banner creation.

We are looking for banners with the following size dimensions. You may enter any of the following sizes in any combination.

Recommended
300 * 250 (Medium Rectangle)
336 * 280 (Large Rectangle)
728 * 90 (Large Leaderboard)
160 * 600 (Wide Sky scraper)

Other Horizontal
468 * 60 (Banner)
234 * 60 (Half banner)

Other Vertical
120 * 600 (Skyscraper)
120 * 240 (Vertical banner)

Other Square
250 * 250 (Square)
200 * 200 (Small Square)
180 * 150 (Small Rectangle)
125 * 125 (Button)

If you need the 419Eater TTF Please PM me so that I can send you the link in order for you to download it.

Rules

Closing date for entries will be October the 29th
Banners must be in PNG or JPG format
In order to be eligible for the prize all entries must be uploaded to this thread no later than 5:00pm EST on Oct 29th
The mods, associates and admins will be voting on the entries in order to determine a winner.
Any registered 419Eater member may enter.

Prize

We will be donating a premium membership either to you or a member of your choice to the winning entry.
One free tag to any member of your choice.

FAQ
As questions come in I will answer them here.

(Q) What type of content are you looking for in the banner?

(A) We specifically did not state what we are looking for in the content of the banner. We simply want the members to come up with something creative that will entice the general public to come over to 419Eater to see what we are all about.

Hi, i was thinking of trying this size "728 * 90 (Large Leaderboard)".
But is the 728* 90 pixels, centimeters, inches or what?

^ I'm sure those would be pixels, Dr Mike. I haven't seen monitors that could display 728 cm or 728 inches yet. Wink

Well if you zoom out far enough it would. It all comes down to the quality of the banner and with pixels it give a quality that isn't very good.

But i figured that pixels is the right one but since the quality was so poor i had to ask.

Just an addendum to what we are looking for here.

Bear in mind that we are trying to draw in the general public here. They will probably not be familiar with our "Inside" type comments. We are looking for a catch line that will spark their curiosity and force them to click on the link rather than giving it a miss.

Think about - what it was that got you to come to 419Eater in the first place.

Based on our last ad campaign I noticed that our banner talking about "Time to fight back against Internet Scams" did the best. Even though it was only a text banner.

Nurse Nasty did a great graphic on "Free the Goats"

- While the graphic was great - as far as an advert went it was a dismal failure. Nobody got it, as the whole goat thing is really a 419eater inside joke and not something that a regular member of the public was likely to click on.

@cookie monster for legal reasons I need to converse with my Barrister to see if C4C owns the intellectual property rights for that picture. I may need to get that clown to sign a release agreement before consideration for Eater marketing material.

I'm a monster. No court in the land will allow you to file a complaint against me. However if you would like, he could sign the agreement while standing on top of my TWAT monuments! It would be an excellent photo!
