Checking through today's offering in my catcher account, I notice that neither of these hallowed and esteemed words appear once. They have been in slow decline for the last few years. Sad

There was a time when any self-respecting lad would sprinkle their formats and emails with these words like hundreds and thousands on a birthday cake. I suppose this is down to them being asked to explain what the words mean over and over, so they have been largely expunged from the modern format.

It seems to me that, for this very reason we should pick up the baton, give it a spin on their behalf and bring them back into common usage.

Just in case you are new to baiting and have never seen either used in a format the definitions (among others) are:

Demurrage is a cost associated with owning or holding currency over a given period of time. It is sometimes referred to as a carrying cost of money. For commodity money such as gold, demurrage is in practice nothing more than the cost of storing and securing the gold.

Modalities
are the formulas, targets, or specific measures used to accomplish objectives in trade negotiations.

So, you have an opportunity to slap when a lad goes into chapter and verse explaining what they want you to do and how much you need to pay, when they could have just said: "Pay the Demurrage to ensure that all Modalities are in place." Wink

There have been some other fantastic words invented by baiters over the years that could be revived too. Very Happy

I've noticed too!
I have been actively using modality in my baiting modalities lately in an effort to have my favourite word introduced back into lad-speak fashion. Smile
I haven't mentioned demurrage as I have seen it a few times lately but I will start to anyway, just to be on the safe side.
