My character did just that.
It allowed me to bring in a side character as a go-between, and allowed my main character to keep on imagining he was seeing various people "spying on me"
The bait lasted 9 months  |

I've had them sic Interpol on me. When they tried to UPS some
fake checks to a vacant lot address. Cost them money. hoo boy
were they mad. Sent me the colorful biz card of the Interpol agent
and his scowling face. |
