Hi all,
Just wanted to congratulate you all on the wonderful site and the fantastic work you do.
I have been trolling 419Eater for over a year now, reading everything I can. Have signed up today because there are areas that can't be accessed without membership. I am 'old school' so don't possess the computer skills you all have (I don't even have a g-mail account!).
The work you do is is just awesome. There are baits & trophies that have me laughing for days and the skills/imagination many of you possess is astounding.
I have also read extensively on the topic of scamming & know of a family devastated by it's effects. Although I read many tales with pure joy at the twists & turns inflicted on the 'mugus', I do realise the serious side and the end result.
You are a family here - bound by a common goal - making life harder for the scammer and hopefully educating the victims. Well done to you all.
I am especially proud to see such a large number of Aussies & Danes (my ancestory) - It is a global community.
I probably won't do any baits myself as being self employed, I rarely have consistant time to keep a bait going. Just knowing that you guys & gals are here and the work & dedication you do, makes me smile.
I will try & make a donation to the site also. On entertainment value alone it is worth the cost of several books or movies. I just need to know where to send the WU payment & the MTCN numbers required? Ha!).
I also greatly appreciate the time it takes to upload & sort the fantastic baits so the rest of us can enjoy them.
Well, that's it from me & looking forward to reading about the future exploits to the scammers greed.

I'd say welcome to Eater, but you've probably known this site longer than me...

If you do want to try baiting yourself, it's a lot of fun and you only have to check your baiting account every other day if you don't have too much time. Just start with 2-3 lads and try not to get too addicted... Very Happy

You can spend as much or as little time as you want. You can easily create your character to be someone who only has Internet access once a day, once a week, or even once month.

Once a Lad smells the odour of money I'm sure he'll wait for you.

The only limitation is your imagination.

A very common newbie mistake is to jump to reply to every email as fast as it comes in. Leave them to stew a bit!

Scammers go "Oh, there's no email from X. I'll reply to Y, and chase up A, B and C, and then send out more scams to the rest of the alphabet, then I'll go and get a coke and a doughnut, then I'll look at porn, then I'll look out of the window for a bit, then I'll check if any of the rest of the alphabet have replied and if they have, I'll send the next bit of the script".

There is no need to be technically literate to bait, no need at all! If you want a hand with anything technical, just ask here - the great thing with 419Eater is that we are all working on the same side, so you will always be helped with any questions Smile

Well.... once a lad believes you to be firmly hooked, they do get a little panicky when you ignore them for a while. Here's an example from my (hopefully) GEFAFWISP lad after I let him "stew" over the weekend:

Good point, but he's probably a scammer that doesn't get paid often, and is crap - thus each possible one means more to him Wink

I personally have never made any lads stew on purpose, simply because I have not had them at the stage where it would be beneficial to me. Confused

If they are on safari, then yeah, fair enough. Its amusing to receive their increasingly desperate and fraught emails!

Welcome! if you choose to bait or not either way I'm glad your here. I did the same thing and did a lot of reading before starting baiting. It realy can be done with as much or little time you choose to devote to it and. I am personely an addict and evil sheep is a dealer. Its a lot of fun and the feeling you get waisting these scumbags time is great. You are probably reading the more elaborate art baits and safaris which are great reads but do take some time and devotion on the baiters part. Check out the stickies on straight baits. Probably a little less time consumming for the baiter but equaly frustraiting for the lads. Either way hope you stick around and enjoy the forum.[/url]
