Makes for interesting reading. Companies not keeping an eye on what their account is being used for, and seemingly little or no security checks to make sure the rightful owner of the account is the one using it. |

Little known fact about fedex.
You ship a letter overnight from NY to CA. The letter arrives, save the fedex label. You can continue to ship things from and to NY to CA using the same label. It will not work with a different destination because that data is already stored that contains the zip from and to but they don't close the record so to speak. I learned this when I went to return a computer and after mailing it from the post office was shocked to find it waiting for me outside my door the next day. Seems an "unmarked" bar code that was on the outside of the box that fedex put there was scanned and it took priority over the USPS label so it was redirected back to my house for a second time! |

The ways to scam are becoming much easier and it's too bad that the shipping companies couldn't X out all but the last three digits of the account number. This would certainly help thwart shipping account theft. |

@Corona - I've missed being around here. School has kept me really buried this term with two writing classes, one English class and a philosophy class on critical thinking. All of my classes are very writing intensive. Three more weeks counting finals week and I'll have a short summer break.  |
