I don't quite understand the reference to extinction of the world when the article seems to hint at the local area + places hit by a tsunami. I get the feeling that mass extinction is over doing it a wee bit.

It is NOT ONLY BP .. who is causing a lot of harm to our environment.
What about Shell in Africa .. they have lot's of oil spills that are now years old and still going on. Nobody does anything!!! 'cause they are poor people living on the land ... so the media does not bother to take any big action. And shell just goes on and on and on spoiling African Soil.

Oke BP is bigger ... and that oil will be spilled all over the Globe by the sea stream / gulf stream will take sure that everywhere we will find oil out of this oilfield.

But is ONLY BP to blame???
Who's platform is it anyway???? STAR company??? ... who manufactured the valve that should have closed.
WHO allows Oil companies to drill for Oil at such depts anyway ...

Who uses the oil as Gas and Diesel and plastics in the end???

So who exactely are to blame ... ???

This is BIG ... and quite difficult to deal with.
SO should every drilling in deap sea come to an end ... RIGHT NOW???

This can happen to SHELL, EXXON, BP, TOTAL and every Oil Company who drills in Deep sea ... or on shallower grounds in the Sea's of our beautifull planet.

Yes this will cost BP dear money.
But they are big enough to survive this desaster as did EXXON.

But what if BP does not survice .... and BP comes in the hands of SHELL ... ?

^^^Hang on, so it's spilling out near Africa....the Africans want to fix it but they don't have the money, thus they scam people out of money to try pay for it to be fixed...........So what we are really doing by baiting is making an oil spill worse

It is SHELL that is Spilling Oil and burning Fuells over there on land.
Seek it up using google. It's bad!

People were killed in the process and total villages were placed under (my english is just not good enough) === look it up with google.

Shell is causing all these problems and should be the one to clean up.
But they do not care!!! )-

I personally don't fill up my car at Shell.

That was my words to the whole 6.6.06 debacle. A friend of mine (yes, I have some) who is a "believer" was so wrapped up in it, I had to laugh in his face on the 7th.

The world isn't going to end anytime soon, and if it does, who cares? We'll all be dead anyway.

All over the globe people are driving their cars, trucks are running, seaschips, aeroplanes, and off course a lot of the oil and natural Gas is used to keep houses warm.

Also plastics ... and some medicines are made out or cruwl oil.

Some scientist say oil will be running out in the next ??? the latest I've heard was 5 years? But if that is true (and I cannot believe that) they should be hurriing to make more windmills and so on.

Well if it's 2012 which I do not believe ... in the coming years we will find ourselfs in more problems. But what can we do???
One person can do just a little.

The price of Car-fuells and heating your house will rise a lot.
Only now we pay around 1.50 Euro's a LITER.
Diesel is somewhat cheaper at 1.22 a Liter

These kinds of predictions have been coming forward for at least the last 20 years. Every generation seems to think that they are in the "End Times", and yet... here we are.

Scientists and researchers are even finding new ways to use petrochemicals. If we were THAT on the verge don't you think the emphasis would be on replacements?

People love to be frightened and there are plenty of people who love to frighten others.

Personally, I want to be the person who uses up the final drop of oil that was converted to petrol/gasoline because I want my 400hp gas guzzling truck to belch out the last molecule of gas that causes the big bang because I want to go out BIG! Twisted Evil

I am more than happy to stick my head in the ground like an ostrich. I have a lot of acquaintences, and a few friends who are deciding to go "Tea Party" cause....well it's the new thing to do. I've always been politically neutral, and still am. But now I don't care anymore what happens, and it's for the ame reason. Every generation has had doomsday predictors and whatever else.

Honestly I don't care if the oil ever runs out. What will mankind do? Well they'll find a way to make things work. What about the oil pouring into the Gulf. Yes it does suck now, big time. But eventually it will clear up, with or without help from humans (see Exxon Valdez)

Anyway I have to stop at this moment only because I've had a few drinks and I forget what I was talking about.

Koko, so there's been a spill of what appears, in your picture, to be vise-grips or pruning shears. Both of these items have been know to be fatal to sea life. BP, however, does not produce these items. Confused

I am sure the second pic is Spongebob doing his part and assisting with "booming". He has not been reported dead by the media, perhaps another cover-up?

Next question...Where exactly was the Haldron Collider aimed at the moment of the "incident"? Shocked

Has anyone noted the rigs was near (but not in) the dreaded and ever expanding Bermuda Triangle???
