I have noticed in the last few weeks a dramatic increase in Asian scammers sending emails to my catcher account. At times they are outnumbering emails from anywhere else byabout 2 to 1. They seem to be coming mostly from China and Thailand plus the usuall few from Hong Kong, Malaysia, India and Singapore.
Has anyone else experienced this as a matter of interest. The scams are all pretty much the same as normal but these lads seem very keen to drop you at a moments notice and are definitely a cut above the ones that seem to come out of a lot of other countries in terms of English and the way they give more comprehensive replies, there seem to be more more "one offs" than the usual lad scripted reply regardless of what you have written.
Just curious to know others experiences or thoughts. |

Noticed.
It must be more than just my private observation that more and more scams seem to originate from Malaysia especially. And they often concentrate on Far Eastern people (judging on the reports of romance scams).
To me it seems a fairly recent development, too, but I would date it back to 2009.
For baiting it doesn´t mean too much actually, because for what I know, it´s the same (only advanced) area boys that are doing these scams...so baiting techniques can be the same |

It depends how and where you spread your catcher addy. I've got one account that attracts Senegalese and Ghanaian ladettes only. I guess these scammer groups each have their own sources they pull possible victims from. |

In my very limited experience with a few asian scammers, they seem to be much more "on script". I've tried with several to bait them and they just keep barking the script at me until they drop me. Anyone else notice this? |

I've noticed that too. And they're much better at writing in English.
Don't know if it signifies, but in my World of Warcraft experience, the phishers are 99% Chinese, and pretty damned good at what they do. They tend to work in closely supervised shops and are closely monitored, so getting them off-script is notoriously difficult. |
