Just wanted to know if a safari from Nigeria to Togo fulfills the demand of an international border crossing since there are part of ECOWAS. |

Hats are for safaris. I believe the general rules for safaris is 200 miles distance travelled (which is 321.86800 kilometres) OR an International border crossing. Getting a lad to travel this distance is the goal. In order to legitimately claim a pith helmet the journey would also have to be IP verified, OR verified by the lad's change of country code of his mobile phone number.

So, if you can document with email headers or phone numbers, the answer would be yes. |

It does indeed qualify. If the headers check out, congratulations! |

I'd just like to add that you can sometimes get a confirmation of a border crossing if the lad sends receipts and a scan of his passport with the frontier control stamps in it (tell him that you'll pay his expenses but you need proof).
I got my "shopping for lions" lad to confirm his safari from Accra to Cotonou that way. |

ECOWAS is indeed a bit of a "cheat" for baiters, but most safaris wouldn't really be possible without it. In fact, advice I always give mentees and members that ask, is to AIM for ECOWAS destinations when planning safaris.
Traveling outside of it will require the lads to get visas, which in most cases may turn them off the whole deal. Rest assured, though, that crossing West African borders isn't exactly a pleasant experience, even if you're an ECOWAS member. And you've gotten your lad to cross TWO borders.
And that's my verbose way of saying, "yes, it does qualify."
For anyone that's not familiar with ECOWAS, it's a treaty that allows citizens of member countries to travel to other member countries without getting documentation beforehand. Think of it as similar to the EU in that respect.
Here's a map of the members:
