Yesterday I sent an Email to my "bank" lad explaining that the remittance fees should have already been paid by now.

The response was....

A blank email Very Happy

Methinks he hit the send button by accident, or he started to smell fish (communications have been scarce lately).

Sometimes lads will accidentally send you a blank email - it's not very normal behavior for a "supicious" lad who is more likely to be demanding/aggressive or simply drop you.

One way to capitalize on this is to reply, complaining about the empty email. Then start to pretend that ALL of his emails to you are arriving blank. This can give you a bit of breathing room while you try to sort out the nonexistent technical problem. Of course you can't keep doing this forever (or at least I don't think you can!) but it can be handy to keep things moving along.

I had one lad that switched to always sending blank email replies. I sent him suggestions to use another computer, check for a virus, etc. He never did fix the problem. If you get several blank replies, there is a great chance this is intentional. I have gotten about 6 or 7 replies from a lad until I quit writing. This happened at the same time for the lad and his Barrister. It wasn't difficult to figure out this is not one lad on one computer with a problem.
