Spring Flowers
Watching the flowers grow in our backyard is one of the best things about Spring time. They always come as a welcome surprise. Does anyone else have wild flowers growing? Our Bluebonnets (Texas State Flower) were rather sparse this year.

Here in the Netherlands the spring starts with 'Rokjesdag' (Skirtsday). It's a term that's made famous by a Dutch columnist (Martin Bril, though it's not really sure he originally came up with it).
Rokjesdag, according to Bril, is the first day of the year that loads of women, seemingly without massively agreeing to do so, appear in public wearing skirts over bare legs.
The (google translated) wiki-article can be found here. Note that at the start of the third paragraph 'Bril' is translated to 'Glasses', which is correct in essence, but not when it's someone surname. |

NO! No flowers, no, no, no!
I have flower alergy, whenever I get in touch with flowers my eyes hurt, i have runny nose, i keep sneezing and rubbing my eyes and stuff.
Flowers are indeed beatiful, but no. Big no for me.
When it's autumn, winter I have damn runny nose because of cold.
When it's spring, summer I have damn runny nose because of flowers. 
And our school homework is to make herbarium including 30 flowers so it will be week spend outside sneezing and collecting flowers. |
