Scam baiting noob

Please help. I am a new scam baiter. I currently have a lad, so far he has got as far as asking me for a phone number, occupation etc. I replied with some fake info.

Please give some general tips for how I should proceed from here.

Thanks for all your help. My only question to date - I have used my own name, but that is the only information I have given that is not fake. Do you see a problem with this?

YES THERE IS! ---- Well, as long as you didn't give a last name. Still, that is waaay too close for comfort I think, best to be on the safe side. Drop him, and get back to him with a TOTALLY new ID and email addy, and start again if you really wanna keep him.

As Happy_Slacker said, don't bait with your real info. You don't want your baiting life to connect to your real life in any way. I assume you're using your real email account? You won't want to do that, scammers sometimes mail bomb us.
I suggest opening a new account with all fake info and starting a new bait with a new lad. There are plenty of them to choose from in the surplus forum. If you want to bait this same scammer you can always send him an email from your new identity pretending as if you received his first script.

Nah. Lads send out so many mails, they can't possibly keep track, nor would they want to. Too much time away from scamming. The lad will just think that another victim is replying to his scam.

He wouldn't think anything of it, because there is another potential source of moneys for him.

I've got a new account now and I have a new lad. He wants my bank account details. I have tried to get help in the sticky topics, but cant seem to find the right way to handle this situation. How do I keep him interested, yet delay this information? Obviously I am going to eventually give him some false numbers, but how best to delay??

Hrmm, how about this: tell said lad that your bank account was frozen by the IRS because you owe back taxes, so therefore reverse it, and ask HIM for a bank account. that way you can also get a real bank account from him, report it to our mysterious friend "alan", to get it closed, and get a piggy in your siggy.
