Welcome Sundance, glad you managed to avoid getting caught out. Most dating sites are riddled with scammers, the best advice is to never send money or gifts (or hospital fee, school fees, translator fees, broadband fees, etc) to anyone you haven't met in person.
You may like to visit our friends over at romancescam.com, they specialise in this kind of thing. |

Thank you for the warm welcome, as well as mentioning the site-
- romancescam.com... I went there to first see MATE1.COM being advertised...the site that began all the problems!!!
The LINK I left in my first message is for you folks that may have time and know how to use it to slow them down. After checking more of my emails I found thta the GHANA IP remained the same , but relocated to other parts of the country.

Sadly most (all?) dating sites are full of scammers, it is horrible to see so many lives hurt to these theives.
RomanceScam are not affiliated with Match1 or any other dating sites, that was just a banner ad like the ones you see here and elsewhere on the web. It helps pay for their hosting costs, meaning they can help more people! Honestly, have a read of their site and you'll see you're not alone, and there will be other people from all the dating sites who got caught out.
I'm not sure we can do too much based on just an email address, without the full headers and emails he/she sent to you, but if you do post those (you can xxx out your personal details, but leave the scammer's) somebody might give him a try.
But why not stick around, and learn how one scammer came close to hurting you, so you can learn how to bait other scammers to prevent others getting caught out too? |
