A while ago I was on this forum reading about a scam where the scambaiter was posing as an investigator who was caught up in a lovecraftian scheme on the coast of new england (you know, with fish like people and villagers who shun all strangers). I have been playing a lot of Arkham Horror lately (an excellent game by the way: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkham_Horror), and want to show it to my friends. Can anybody point me in the right direction? |

I should mention you should tell your friends all about these nasty scammers and make sure they pass on the anti-scam message. Word of mouth is a wonderful way of get the word out. I'm not saying they should bait, just inform family, their friends, local groups they may be involved with. You never know who you might help/save from the lads.

I actually have been telling people about this site (went as far as sending the link to the main page even), but I just never became a member of the forum until recently.

Thanks fot the link, that one was also pretty good, but it's not the one I am looking for. The one I'm refering too was not only posted on the forum, but also on the site itself, and was from the perspective not of a cultist, but of an investigator. |

Sectoid, that is the exact way I started. Showing to friends the funny baits contained here. Then I started reading. Deeper into the mysteries I went, until shadowy creatures came from the corners of the room. Now look at me  . |

It's only slightly Lovecraft related, but this 11-month bait of mine featured my main character and his daughter having to visit R'lyeh in order to use the WU there (nowhere else would let him send a payment, would you believe?). R'lyeh, it turns out, is like a holiday resort type of island, but my character does go slightly insane, so it's not entirely unconnected to a true Lovecraft story.
As I said, it's rather long, but it also incorporates a bit of writing silliness from my main character which can be amusing (or irritating) to read.
